Devotional
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Devotional collects, uses, and protects information.
Last updated: July 6, 2026
1. Who We Are
Devotional: Bible & Prayer ("Devotional") is operated by Wellspoken Labs Inc. ("Wellspoken Labs," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy applies to the Devotional app, website, and related services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information needed to provide Devotional, including:
- Account information: name, email address, password hash, login status, and account timestamps.
- Onboarding and preferences: devotional goals, selected topics, reminder time, notification preferences, timezone, and related setup answers.
- Devotional activity: lesson progress, completion dates, highlights, annotations, saved passages, and reading state.
- Journal and prayer content: journal entries, prayer requests, prayer activity, reports, and community prayer interactions.
- Companion chat: chat conversations, messages, and limited companion memory used to keep future responses relevant.
- Notifications and device data: Expo push tokens, device model, timezone, notification delivery logs, and receipt status.
- Website and app usage data: pages visited, links clicked, approximate attribution source, device/browser metadata, diagnostics, and performance information.
Some information you choose to enter may reveal religious beliefs, prayer needs, relationships, or other sensitive personal information. Please use discretion when writing journal entries, prayer requests, or companion chat messages.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and secure your account;
- provide scripture, reflection, journaling, prayer, and chat features;
- personalize the devotional experience and remember progress;
- send requested reminders and service messages;
- moderate and protect community prayer features;
- respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests;
- debug, analyze, and improve the app and website;
- comply with legal, security, and platform obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your journal, prayer, or companion chat content for third-party advertising.
4. AI Processing
Devotional may send relevant prompts, passages, chat messages, journal context, or companion memory to AI infrastructure providers to generate responses and operate companion features. We use these providers to deliver the service, not to sell your devotional content.
AI responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. Avoid entering highly sensitive personal information that is not needed for your devotional use.
5. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- service providers for hosting, databases, email, analytics, AI, and push notifications;
- app stores and payment processors if paid features are offered;
- support and operations personnel who need access to resolve issues;
- legal, safety, or compliance recipients when required or appropriate;
- a successor organization if Devotional is reorganized, transferred, or sold.
6. Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide Devotional, operate our business, comply with law, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our terms.
You can delete your account in the app or contact support. Account deletion removes your account and associated devotional data from active systems, including journal entries, lesson progress, annotations, prayer requests you created, companion chat conversations, and push notification tokens. Some limited records may remain for security, legal compliance, dispute handling, backup integrity, or fraud prevention.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, password hashing, token controls, access limitations, and operational monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Devotional is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You can manage notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, inside the app.
10. International Processing
We are based in the United States. Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and take additional steps when required by law.
