Joseph
From the pit to the palace
Sold into slavery by his brothers, he rose to save the very family that betrayed him.
Joseph was the favored son of Jacob, sold into slavery in Egypt by his jealous brothers. Even when he was wrongly imprisoned, God was with him.
His God-given gift for interpreting dreams brought him before Pharaoh, who set him over all Egypt. When famine drove his brothers to Egypt years later, Joseph forgave them, seeing that God had used their evil for good.
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”Genesis 50:20
