Esther

A queen for such a time as this

A Jewish orphan who became queen of Persia and risked her life to save her people.

Esther was a Jewish orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai, who became queen of Persia. When a plot arose to destroy the Jews, Mordecai urged her to act, telling her she had perhaps come to the kingdom for such a time as this.

At the risk of her own life, Esther approached the king uninvited, exposed the plot, and her people were spared.

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place... and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?Esther 4:14
